There are a number of regional variations on the standard rules and scoring systems. Round the Clock is a variation that involves hitting the numbers in sequence. Jumpers is a variation played in Asia.

There are also a number of games regarding placing pictures of famous people onto dart boards.

American darts

American Darts, despite the name, is a regional USA variant of the game (most U.S. dart players play the traditional games described above). This style of dart board is most often found in eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and parts of New York state.

Darts Cricket

Cricket is a dart game that uses the standard 20 number dartboard with the treble and double rings. It is known by various names in Britain, including "Mickey Mouse", "Horse and Carriage", "Coach and Horses", "The Game" and "Faldo".

Dartball

Dartball is a game in which darts are thrown at a large wooden or homasote board that resembles a baseball field with colored areas which denote bases. Dartball uses baseball-like rules and scoring.

Dartball rules and board configurations vary from league to league, but generally teams comprise either seven or nine players plus possible alternates. Dartball teams are usually formed by churches, often playing their games during fall and winter months in church basements or common areas. Most leagues end their seasons with championship tournaments held at local high school gymnasiums.

Dartball is a very competitive game in which both teams will do just about anything to get inside the head of the current batter. Some teams are really competitive and some teams are just there to enjoy the game. In each match played there are three individual nine-inning games, with the exception of tie games in which twelve innings will be played. In some leagues, in order for a team to record a win, they must win at least two out of the three individual games. In other leagues, each win or loss in an evening's match is counted in the team's season standings.

Fibonacci is a dart game that uses the standard 20 number dartboard with the treble and double rings.

Low Darts

In low darts, the board is placed on the floor and leaned against a pole, usually metal. The throwing line is 7' 3" away from the front of the board, as in American darts, except players place their back foot on the line and may assume a forward lunging position to place their front foot as close to the board as possible to gain an advantage. The player may only have two points of contact with the floor and he must demonstrate balance before, during and after throwing. The darts are thrown underhand and the first player to score exactly -21 points wins. If a player "busts" (scores less than -21 points) his score is reverted to -15 and his turn is over. A dart that lands in the thick outer portion is worth -1 point. The thick inner portion is worth -2 points. The thin outer portion and thin inner portion are worth -3 and -4 points respectively. The outer bull's eye is worth -5 points and the inner bull's eye is worth -10 points.
